Image 1.. Crushed shell
This photo was taken on the top of my dock. This photo was taken during the day. I captured the picture from a very close distance. In this picture I was standing above the subject. The iso would have been about 100 because it was a bright day. The white balance I chose for this photo is sunny. The compelling matter is the crushed shell. The picture is in a way a mystery because it is tough to figure out what is in the photo. The strong shape of the crushed shells contrasts with the linear repetition of the grain of the dock behind it.
image 2.. Canon Camera
This photo was taken in our classroom studio. The subject in this picture is a old camera. The lighting i had was dark but i used a flash. The exposure was small and u focused right on the front of the lens where the writing is. It was a shallow depth of field ( about F4). in the photo i used a flash, i think it created a nice reflection. The strong shape in the photo is the outside of the lens mainly because it is the only part in focus.
Image 3.. canvas books
Lighting- There was no additional lighting used for this image besides the classroom lights.
Focus- The middle books are in focus.
Depth of field- I used a low F-stop so only certain things would be in focus.
Angle/ point of view - I captured this image from a angle slightly off to the side.
Artistic qualities- The books seem to lead your eye to the end because of the same shape and repetition.

image 4.. rail
This image is of one of the rails in our auditorium. The camera is focused on the middle of the wood piece. I had the White balance set to incandescent. i used a high ISO because it was a little dark in the auditiriom The wood grain brings out the shape and sharpness of the photo. The photo was taken at the same angle as the rail so it had a leading view to it. The photo has a small portion that is in focus and the blur gives it a nice look.
image 5.. rope
The rope is my favorite and i think strongest photo. This photo was also taken on my dock. The subject in the photo is a rope tied around the cleat of a dock. I had the white balance set to sunny and the ISO set around 100 because it was sunny. I captured the photo from straight on laying down. Most of the frame is in focus. The strongest part is definitely the tied rope, it creates leading lines all throughout the picture as the rope enters the knot. Before the photo was transformed to black and white it had strong contrast. The dock is a strong grey and the rope was very white.
Image 7.. Double exposure
This photo is a double exposure. The landscape in the background is the Taunton River on a light day. The picture of me was taken by a classmate. The water line is lined up with the shape of my jaw blending them together. The light from the sun is directly on my eye and the reflection on the water runs downs the upper portion of my body. The landscape was taken in the afternoon with a fish eye lens. The photo creates suspense because i am looking into the distance. The compelling matter in the photo is the sun and how it creates a reflection and light through out the whole image.
