In the water fountain picture, the shutter speed was 1/200 to freeze the water and make individual water droplets visible.
The distance of the picture 4 feet but i used a zoom lens to make the distance appear closer. The point of view is eye level with the fountain. In this photo I followed the rule of 3rds. line is also important to follow the arch of the water. In the other water fountain picture i used a slow shutter speed (about 1/30) to blur the water. the distance point of view and composition are the same as the other photo. |
Aperture
In the picture with the shoe the F-stop was 1.6. The iso was about 400 and the white balance was daylight. i used a high F-stop to create it i used the same iso and wb for the photos. i think the photo with a short depth of field is better because it is just a small part in focus and it has a lot of detail. you would want to use a large depth of field to get a lot of things in focus. a large depth of field would be better for a picture covering more space.
